Riad Kasbah Oliver is owned by Mohamed from Tighza and his British wife Carolyn. It was designed, by Carolyn, as both a home and a family run guesthouse.
The Kasbah has 12 guest bedrooms, the smallest room accomodating 2 people and the largest bedroom taking 5. There are 8 guest bedrooms with ensuite shower, toilet and sinks. We can comfortably accommodate 39 people at any one time. For groups can also use the grand salon as a dormitory bedroom and it has direct access into the downstairs showers and toilet.
The kasbah is similar to a Homestay as the majority of guests sleep on bed mattresses laid on Sahara blankets on the floor. Bedding and towels are provided. In winter we do ask groups to bring a 3-4 season sleeping bag and a 2 season sleeping bag in summer. Clean bed sheet and pillow cases are provided as is a large blanket. There are also several duvets and eiderdowns available.
We have western style flushing toilets and wet room style showers. On the ground floor we have 2 showers and 1 toilet which can be accessed from reception or the grand salon. There are a further 2 sets of showers with toilets within the cubicle on the first floor plus a separate toilet cubicle. Traditional brass sinks are in the communal area of both the bathrooms on the first and ground floors.
Our split level kitchen with fridge freezer and western style cooker offers plenty of workspace for people who want to learn how to cook Moroccan food. We offer a variety of Berber cuisine and are well equipped to cater for food allergies and intolerances(please let us know your dietary requirements when you book.)
Meals are eaten either in the Riad garden at mosaic tables or in the sal a manger which has a serving hatch through to the kitchen. The salon has high mattresses with covers and cushions in the traditional Moroccan style and meals are served at traditional Moroccan low tables.

We had a great time! Such a particular atmosphere: a sort of human community where people help each other smiling. Everbody was very kind to us. Landscape was marvellous! Dinner was perfect. THANKYOU!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much! We had a great time. Such an easy transfer up there and well prepared after all the extra info you sent us before then. An amazing kasbah and an authentic experience in a beautiful valley up in the mountains. Although I have been quite a few times to Morocco I had never seen this sort of stunning scenery. It was such a chilled stay with nothing to think about, everything we needed and at the same time a real escape from our materialistic Western life. Kids (aged 3 & 5) found it wonderful too, made may friends in the village despite the language barrier and it will be a memory for life. We will be back!

Riad Kasbah Oliver and Homestays are sustainable tourism projects which directly benefit the local communities. Your money goes directly to the host families and the village to help improve the lives and environment of the people. We encourage guests to get more involved with project work, for example bringing childrens' clothes and shoes which are given to poor families.
